Showcasing the work of Elon University’s MA in Interactive Media Class of 2022
About The Event
Elon University’s Interactive Media master’s program invites current students, alumni, faculty, friends & family, employers, and other professionals to join this year’s cohort for their 2022 capstone exhibition event held May 17, 2022, in Long Building from 5:30–7:30p.m.
The culminating assignment for iMedia graduate students is the capstone project: where students are encouraged to follow their passions and pick a topic that interests them, then build out a full-scale, functioning interactive media project around it. This May’s exhibition serves as an opportunity for these students to show off their hard work to interested parties.
Some of the featured projects include a VR exposure therapy program, a video game about queer identity, a parallax website explaining AI bias, and a diversity and inclusion education mobile application for the Elon community.

Alyssa Sandy has been a student-athlete for all of her educational experience. She is a part of Elon University's Track and Field team. Being a student-athlete has allowed her to master time management, which is she has been able to diversify her portfolio by working on various projects. Alyssa is a designer who decided to make the change to move into product. She realized that her favorite part of being a designer was making information more accessible through design. She is currently working at IBM part-time on various strategic projects as a designer and project manager across the HR Technology portfolio. She is also working as the Communications Lead for the Triangle Women in STEM conference held at Duke University. In May, She will be joining PrecisionLender, a Financial Technology company, as a Product Owner.

Ana Martinez graduated from North Carolina A&T State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Media Design. She is an aspiring product designer with interests in graphic design, content strategy, and UX & UI design. Her greatest passion is creating beautiful artifacts that spark joy.

Christy Marchand got her undergraduate degree at James Madison University as a B.A. in Media Arts and Design. Her passions span across many areas including UX/UI design, web development, project/product management, photography, and of course...snow sports. Christy will begin her career as a Digital Product Manager at Freedom Boat Club upon graduation.

Daniela Romero is a Elon University iMedia graduate candidate. They previously graduated from North Carolina Central University. Graduating earlier than most due to attending an early college program on NCCU's campus.
She is a Durham, North Carolina native. She is also the first in her immediate family to go to college.

My name is Diamond Carroll, and I am a visionary that creates shining stories built under pressure. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, I grew up in a private school where I developed a love for the performing arts. Doo Lee is an award-winning and experienced graphic designer with multi-skills in production. He worked as a graphic designer, campus photographer, and video producer at Methodist University for seven years and completed numerous design, photo, and video projects for the school. Lee has excellent senses and skills as a designer to bring ideas to the real world.
He won the 2017 American InHouse Design Award from Graphic Design UAS for his print and digital ad design for Methodist University Engineering Program. Lee is an active member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. He recently has been accepted as the 2022 Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) scholar by the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) and invited to present his master’s program capstone project, Elon Together, at the BEA 2022 conference in Las Vegas.
Lee earned his B.F.A. degree in Graphic Design from Methodist University in 2014 and got hired by his alma mater as a graphic designer. Lee left Methodist University to pursue a master’s degree in Interactive Media at Elon University in 2021, and he is currently an Elon iMedia class of 2022 graduate candidate (May 2022).

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elon University in 2021. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communications and completed minors in Professional Writing Studies and Dance. I currently still attend Elon University as a student in the Interactive Media Master of Arts program where I will graduate in May 2022.
Elon’s School of Communications was ranked as the second-best communications program by College Magazine in 2017. I was formally recognized in Elon’s 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 President’s Lists and was a member of Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societ
I have held communications internships with two nonprofit organizations— CureSearch for Children’s Cancer and Impact100 Global Council. During these internships, I was able to manage social media accounts, track and document social media analytics, write blog posts and media alerts, compile media lists and pitch to the media, work on a WordPress website, create graphics, strategize a national campaign with brand partners, and proofread copy. Following my first internship with CureSearch for Children’s Cancer during the summer of 2019, I was rehired for Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Fall 2020.
I currently work as a consultant for Elon’s Center for Writing Excellence where I went through extensive training in order to be able to provide direct academic support to undergraduate students, graduate students, and the Alamance County community. I also serve as Head of Public Relations for DanceWorks, a student-run dance organization offering free weekly classes, and during my freshman year, I co-created and continue to co-manage a popular Instagram account, ElonEats, that provides food options and news from around campus.

She is passionate about promoting growth and authenticity of people, regardless of the role she holds. King lives in Greensboro with her husband, Aaron and her nine-year-old son, Wyatt.
